I love all things nautical or beach themed. I was redoing our bedroom and decided to go back to my original plan of having things that are sea worthy in style, color, or objects. My dilemma was we own a 70 year old house that is more quaint than I am I used to. I love white baseboards, white crown molding, etc. None of which is in my present home. Not wanting to take away from the originality of the house I was not sure my beach theme or even lighthouse theme would work. That is when I discovered the Tommy Bahama Map Quilt. I have tan-ish curtains and had a solid yellow bedspread with navy blue throw pillows but really wanted something more soothing. The map quilt was just the thing I needed. The colors are true to the picture and the quilt is rather lightweight so I will need to add a small blanket should we ever get into winter. The tans, blues and browns are fantastic and go well with my light tan-ish curtains. We have a Captain's Quarters sign with blues, yellows and a small amount of red which just go so well with the quilt. I also have a double exposure picture of a lighthouse and wooden sailing ship on my wall. I noticed that the ship in the photo and ships in the quilt are very similar, what a pleasant surprise. Now when I walk into our bedroom I immediately feel calm and peaceful. I have a queen sized bed with a memory foam mattress and after measuring the bed and looking at the sizes I chose to order the quilt in king. I like having the quilt almost to the floor as I have storage boxes under the bed and this hides them well. It is close to a bedspread in size except I have to use the shams as there is not enough in length to pull over the pillows. Since the king comes with the king shams I just used the standard pillows I had used in the yellow shams and folded one end over. I wish I had the option to get standard shams but with the two standard pillows put side by side you never see the folded edges but looks like one king sham. This is a quilt I will use for a long time and if you need a lightweight quilt through hotter seasons this is the one for you but with a nice blanket placed on the foot of the bed you are good to go in the winter. I highly recommend this quilt and seller. I received this quilt on time and in excellent conditionHad this quilt on my wish list since last summer and finally bought it once our bedroom renovation was complete. The nautical theme goes beautifully with our new turquoise, white & sand colored room. The quality of the quilt was far better than I expected. The print is rich in color, the fabric is sturdy and the stitching looks to be very well done. Yet it is still light weight enough to be comfortably used as a summer quilt. A bonus was discovering the pillow shams were printed on both sides! I washed it prior to putting it on the bed due to a slight chemical smell which I believe is from the printing. It washed and dried quite nicely.There are two negatives I can say about this quilt:The first has nothing to do with the quilt; I wish it came in California King. If you order it for a California King, you will have a generous amount of overhang on the sides, but the bottom is about 6 inches short of what you would need to make it perfect. It still works though. You just will not be able to tuck the bottom in, if that's how you like your bed made.The second is that in order for the maps/writing on the quilt to be right-side-up, the tags end up at my head. I have cut the tags off and it is fine.Both negatives are minor enough to not bother me, because I really love this quilt so much!Excellent quality, true to size…just like picturedItem arrived fast and is exactly as described. It is not an oversize King, meaning it fits but there is very little "extra" material. It is lightweight but still has a quality feel. The color is accurate as compared to the image. It's hard to find something that is neutral/masculine. This would be great for a couples or male's bedroom. Very happy with this purchase.***Update 8 October 2015*** After using the quilt over the summer, I still like the weight of the comforter. I've had to wash it about three times since my purchase. I have washed it on the delicate cycle, used minimum detergent, and dried on low heat. The quilt has faded and shrunk. Since the quilt is already extremely small for a King, the shrinkage makes a huge difference for how much quilt hangs over the sides. It still has a great feel; I just wish it was at least a foot longer in width. Using this with an adjustable split king was probably not the best idea.The Tommy Bahama Queen Quilt exceeded expectations. The comfort is excellent and the quilt is machine washable. The quilt is true to its photo and is exactly the size as described. I will be buying more Tommy Bahama merchandise as the design is unique and quality superiorI have this bedspread on my queen sized bed. The matching pillow shams loo nice as well. My wife found an old world map in a frame that we hung above my headboard. It all creates a great visual in my bedroom. (As long as the map doesn't come off the wall and crush my skull.)Even though I definitely chose the wrong bedspread for my wall color I have to give kudos to Tommy Bahamas brand and quality of bed cover it is just as described and my husband is a great fan of their shirts for obvious reasons so you can trust the quality of the bedspread. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it seemed too hard to return and it wasn't matchable with my walls but that actually is not the bedspreads fault ...it's my fault.We love the TB Map Quilt and shams! It's light enough for its use year-round in Central Florida, and it is a great quality. My son had wanted a travel theme for his off-campus housing, and this fit his desire the best of the dozens we looked at. We are very pleased! We are hoping the wraparound bedskirt goes well with it -- we'll see... The 2 different colors of sheets we got to go with it, look like they will go well... We will see on move-in day... But we LOVE the TB Map Quilt! When it is only the quilt and shams in the case, it takes a bit of shooting in the dark about what best will go with it when it comes to bedskirt and sheets.El producto es de buena calidad, sin embargo la colcha es un poco corta, no cubre toda la base de mi cama y eso que no es muy alta. Como mi cama está en una esquina de mi habitación no se percibe el lado de la colcha que queda junto a la pared así que puedo correrla para que cubra toda la base de la cama del lado visible, pero por ese detalle no le di las cinco estrellas.Got this quilt/shams for a great price so no complaints. It’s cotton and has a nice weight which is what I was looking for. I enjoy the neutral colors. Overall a good purchase.Excelente calidad.
